Segundo o veículo francês "Le Journal du Dimanche", Sebastien Borget, cofundador e COO do The Sandbox, sofreu uma tentativa de sequestro esta semana em sua residência em Villenoy, Seine-et-Marne, na França.
O relatório afirma que um homem disfarçado de entregador chegou à porta da frente e, após a esposa de Borget abrir a porta, cinco cúmplices mascarados invadiram o quintal, tentando arrastá-la à força para dentro de um veículo. Vizinhos intervieram após ouvirem seus pedidos de socorro, e os suspeitos fugiram do local. Dois suspeitos já foram presos, enquanto outros quatro continuam foragidos. A polícia encontrou armas falsas, braçadeiras de nylon e capuzes com os indivíduos detidos. A investigação preliminar da polícia francesa sugere que o incidente está relacionado a criptomoedas.
O relatório observou que a França registrou 41 casos de sequestro ou tentativa de sequestro relacionados a criptomoedas este ano, totalizando 135 casos desde 2023, o que representa quase 80% dos casos relacionados na Europa.
