Selon Jinshi News, Nomura Securities prévoit qu'en raison de la hausse de l'inflation et de l'affaiblissement du soutien des responsables de la Réserve fédérale en faveur d'un assouplissement monétaire, la probabilité d'une baisse des taux à court terme a diminué et la Réserve fédérale maintiendra ses taux d'intérêt inchangés en 2026. Dans un rapport publié le 21 mai, Nomura a déclaré que le futur président de la Réserve fédérale, Kevin Walsh, pourrait toujours être enclin à assouplir la politique monétaire, mais que les données récentes et les déclarations des responsables de la Réserve fédérale les amènent à douter qu'il puisse convaincre la majorité des membres du Comité fédéral de l'open market (FOMC) de soutenir une baisse des taux.
