Arthur Hayes Emphasizes the Importance of Liquidity for Bitcoin's Rise

Arthur Hayes stated that the next upward phase of Bitcoin (BTC) could be influenced more by global liquidity and macroeconomic conditions than by the Clarity Act. He mentioned that Bitcoin does not need the Clarity Act, and liquidity and macroeconomics are more important. Hayes predicted that if concerns about U.S. government debt and the Treasury market grow, policymakers could inject liquidity into the financial markets. He explained that an increase in the money supply could lead to greater demand for limited assets like Bitcoin. He also raised the possibility that the Federal Reserve might take additional support or monetary easing measures. Hayes argued that if the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds heads toward 4.75% to 5%, policymakers might implement measures like 'Operation Twist.' The Clarity Act is a bill aimed at dividing the jurisdiction between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and establishing a regulatory framework for the virtual asset market. The U.S. Senate blocked progress on the Clarity Act in a vote on the 15th, with a tally of 49 to 50. Hayes believes that monetary policy and capital flows are more likely to influence Bitcoin's price cycles than the passage of the bill. He mentioned key price levels for Bitcoin at $60,000 and $100,000, stating that he bases investment decisions more on macroeconomic and liquidity conditions than on technical analysis. Currently, the price of Bitcoin is $75,768, down 1.46% from 24 hours ago.

Global markets on September 16 are focused on the Fed rate decision. On September 15, the S&P 500 fell 0.45% to 7,585.73, the Nasdaq fell 0.78%, and the Dow fell 0.63% as the 10-year yield broke above 5% and Brent crude rose to about $109. The CLARITY procedural vote failed to clear the 60-vote threshold, sending bitcoin down to about $75,600 and Ethereum toward $2,400. Energy led with a gain of about 2.3%. Investors are waiting for the 14:00 ET policy statement and Walsh press conference on September 16.
