Base Partners with Coinbase to Launch 1:1 Backed Tokenized Stocks
Base co-founder Jesse Pollak announced a collaboration with Coinbase to launch a tokenized stock product backed by 1:1 stock assets, aimed at enhancing the scalability of on-chain stocks. Pollak noted that Robinhood Chain's introduction of tokenized stocks in the EVM environment has been a success, while Base's lag in this area is regrettable. The new solution is expected to outperform Robinhood's derivatives model in terms of trust, capital efficiency, and institutional acceptance. Pollak believes that the combination of the world's largest capital markets with the financial programmability on Base's EVM will create a powerful financial infrastructure.
