BcashJr Wallet Allows Image Insertion in Luke Dashjr's Bitcoin Fork
BcashJr Wallet has integrated the 'Blake Spammer' tool to allow the publication of multimedia files on the BLAKE2b network. This development, announced on October 3, 2026, by developer Hampus, is ironic given that Luke Dashjr, the promoter of the fork, had advocated for the separation from the main Bitcoin chain to combat 'spam' and prevent the insertion of arbitrary images and data. To bypass the censorship filters of Dashjr's BIP110 proposal, the creators of BcashJr Wallet have implemented a system that hides data within fake public keys, allowing unrestricted content publication. Users can upload files of up to 128 KiB in PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP formats, using BLAKE coins to fund the operation. Transactions employ SIGHASH_UNIFIED protection, ensuring that funds on the original Bitcoin network remain intact. Dashjr has responded to this vulnerability by stating that no one had claimed it would be impossible to send unwanted data and that his project will mitigate these practices if they become an operational issue.
