Metaplanet sells 10,000 bitcoin and buys back 11,000
Metaplanet has sold 10,000 bitcoin and shortly after bought back 11,000 bitcoin. The company owned 43,000 bitcoin before the transaction, bringing the current total to 44,000 bitcoin. The sale generated 124.7 billion yen, approximately 704 million euros, while the repurchase cost 149.9 billion yen, around 847 million euros. The average selling price was 12.47 million yen per bitcoin, and the repurchase price was 13.63 million yen, indicating an increase of about 9.3 percent. Metaplanet spent 25.2 billion yen, about 142 million euros, more than it received from the sale, but ended up with an additional 1,000 bitcoin. The company is also considering a U.S. tax benefit of 97 million dollars, approximately 87 million euros, although this has not yet been confirmed. Additionally, Metaplanet intends to use 10 to 15 percent of its total assets for investments outside of bitcoin to create new revenue streams.
