Bitwise executive predicts corporate BTC buying may resume if prices rebound

Corporate Bitcoin buying may reactivate from late this year into next year if BTC prices recover, according to Bitwise Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen. He noted that corporate BTC purchases significantly slowed in the third quarter, with net BTC holdings growth dropping to 1666 from 83901 in the second quarter. Additionally, net purchases by other listed companies fell to 5617 from 45725 during the same period. Rasmussen indicated that further buying could occur if shares of BTC-holding companies regain their premium relative to the BTC value they hold. He also mentioned that other factors could contribute to a BTC price recovery, even if corporate buying does not pick up by year-end. Corporate purchases represent only one source of BTC demand. With spot BTC ETFs experiencing 6.4 billion in net inflows in the third quarter, Rasmussen suggested that spot ETF demand could bolster a BTC price recovery.
