CME to Launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group plans to introduce Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures products with a target launch date of the 19th. This initiative aims to expand the digital asset derivatives market, which has primarily focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum, to include major altcoins. CME will offer standard futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash at 250 BCH and micro futures at 25 BCH, while Uniswap standard futures will be designed for 10,000 UNI per contract and micro futures for 1,000 UNI. The micro futures are intended to help small investors manage price volatility risks. This introduction demonstrates the growing inclusion of derivatives trading in traditional financial markets, including decentralized finance (DeFi) with Uniswap. However, the launch of these futures products is not directly related to the approval of spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs). CME explains that this expansion reflects customer demand for risk management and plans to enhance the derivatives trading infrastructure for various digital assets. As of 8:03 AM on the 20th, Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap are showing increases of 1% and 1.23%, respectively, on TradingView.
