A federal judge in the Northern District of California, Jacqueline Scott Corley, approved a preliminary injunction on November 4, prohibiting Kalshi Inc. and KalshiEX from offering sports event contracts on the Indian land of the plaintiff tribe. The injunction applies to sports contracts for baseball, tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, esports, racing, boxing, and UFC, limited to the land of the plaintiff tribe and does not apply to the entire state of California. Kalshi had previously stated that it had voluntarily blocked trading in the relevant area, but the tribe questioned this. According to the injunction, the tribe must provide a boundary map by November 13, and Kalshi must report compliance steps within 21 days.
