Diógenes Urquiza has resigned as Undersecretary of Sports, criticizing the government's management. In a letter to President Javier Milei, he denounced resistance to changing 'old practices' and the lack of 'a shared conviction and political commitment.' He thanked the president and Mauricio Macri. Urquiza expressed that his experience showed that resistance also exists within the government. He stated that 'true change does not solely depend on who signs a decision, but also on the institutional support to sustain it.' He emphasized that transforming Argentine sports requires a political commitment that has not been consolidated. Urquiza took office in July 2024, after having worked in the area since the beginning of the administration and having been the head of the National High Performance Entity (Enard). He also led the portfolio between 2018 and 2019.
