Eight Regions of Ukraine Left Without Electricity

By: rootdata|2026/07/22 07:06:25

On July 22, as a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions were temporarily left without electricity supply. Energy workers are operating in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply, with work continuing around the clock. No forecasts for restrictions on July 22 are expected. The Ministry of Energy has urged consumers to use electricity sparingly during peak hours. The summer of 2026 in Ukraine will be associated with energy balancing, despite optimistic forecasts. The main risks remain in the form of shelling and summer heat, coinciding with planned repairs at nuclear power plants. The development of solar generation does not fully cover the deficit due to a lack of industrial batteries. The head of the board of 'Ukrenergo', Vitaliy Zaychenko, reported that power outages of up to 5 hours a day are possible in July-August during heat and new attacks.
