Gasoline Cars Account for 39.1% of Sales in August

In August, cars with traditional engines accounted for nearly 57% of the new passenger car market, up from 49% last year. Gasoline engines remain the most popular, with their share reaching 39.1% of August sales, an increase from 32.3% in August 2022. The hybrid segment also showed growth, rising from 23.4% to 32.9%. The share of diesel cars increased from 16.2% to 17.5%. At the same time, the electric vehicle segment shrank from 27.9% to 10.2%. Cars with gas equipment make up less than 1% of total sales. The leaders by segment were: gasoline Skoda Octavia, hybrid Toyota RAV-4, diesel Renault Duster, electric BYD Sea Lion 06, and gas-equipped Hyundai Tucson. In August, Ukrainians purchased about 5,000 new passenger cars, which is 27% less than in the same period last year. The most popular brand was Toyota, which improved its performance by 9% compared to July. The Toyota RAV-4 crossover became the most sought-after car in the new passenger car market in Ukraine.
