Revolut is facing issues after leaking confidential data, including bitcoin transaction histories of several clients, to a scammer posing as a government official. The company claims that the request was sent from an official and verified email, and that refusing to respond would have been illegal. However, the regulation it invokes to justify itself requires confirming the authenticity of the request through additional channels, and it was in this security check where it failed. The leak not only exposes data but also allows tracking clients to their homes. Although Revolut assures that the funds are safe, the data has already been leaked on Telegram.
