Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier stated in a post on X that all confirmed fund losses involve Ledger signing devices sold through the Southeast Asian distributor CryptoBilis. On October 10, Ledger confirmed that one of the affected devices had an unauthorized hardware implant, and there are no signs that Ledger's own infrastructure, systems, or services have been compromised. CryptoBilis has stopped selling Ledger devices. Ledger's security team, Donjon, is detecting recovered devices and collaborating with law enforcement while contacting affected users. The official reminder: Do not activate devices purchased through this channel that have not been activated; assets should be transferred as soon as possible using new devices and new recovery phrases for those that have been activated; Ledger will not proactively call or request 24-word recovery phrases.
