Ripple Active Addresses Increase by 35%, New Addresses Stagnate
The average daily active addresses on the Ripple (XRP) ledger increased to 35,700 in August. The creation of new addresses remains stagnant at about 2,260 per day, which is analyzed to be primarily due to the expansion of activities among existing users. According to CryptoBriefing, the active addresses on the Ripple ledger surged by 654.71% during a short-term spike, reaching approximately 356,000. The average daily active addresses in August represent a 35% increase from July's figure of 26,400. The peak daily active addresses in August reached around 49,900, indicating a temporary increase in network usage. Active addresses refer to those involved in actual transactions, and an increase in the number of addresses does not necessarily mean an increase in the number of users. The creation of new addresses remains stagnant, suggesting that the difference between active and new addresses indicates an increase in transaction frequency among existing holders. In late August, successful transactions on the Ripple ledger increased by about 65.5%, while the overall transaction volume rose by approximately 38.5%. The number of active accounts surpassed 8 million in July, up from about 7.85 million in March; however, due to the stagnation of new addresses, it is difficult to conclude that the user base is expanding. While an increase in the intensity of Ripple ledger usage has been confirmed, the rise in active addresses does not necessarily prove an increase in users or a directional change in price.
