On August 31, Pollen Robotics, a subsidiary of Hugging Face, launched its open-source bipedal robot Microduck at a price of $399. Standing approximately 25 centimeters tall, it features capabilities such as walking, picking up objects, and autonomously getting up after falling, and it can be equipped with roller skates. Within six hours of its launch, orders exceeded $1 million, surpassing $2.6 million within 24 hours, with around 6,500 units pre-ordered and a delivery timeline extending to 4 to 6 months. The Microduck's main control unit utilizes the Rockchip RK3566 chip from China, responsible for operating 15 motors, cameras, LiDAR, and a 50Hz robotic strategy loop. After the A-shares market opened today, Rockchip's stock price hit the upper limit directly, with market analysts attributing the surge to the strong sales of Microduck as a catalytic factor.
