Russia Classifies Crypto Miners as Fourth Category of Power Supply Reliability

The Russian Ministry of Energy has stated that cryptocurrency miners will apply for connection to the power grid under the fourth category of power supply reliability. Such users can be directly disconnected by authorities at any time without prior negotiation. This category was established by the government in February of this year, allowing technical connections in areas where energy shortages have been declared and mining is prohibited. The Ministry of Energy claims that this move will effectively utilize existing energy infrastructure while not threatening the reliability of power supply to residents.
