Ukrainians' Bank Deposits Reach 1.75 Trillion UAH
The total amount of deposits from individuals and entrepreneurs in Ukrainian banks as of August 1, 2026, reached 1,750.6 billion UAH, increasing by 1.3 billion UAH over the past month. The growth was driven by foreign currency deposits, while hryvnia savings decreased by 1.9 billion UAH to 1,155.0 billion UAH. Foreign currency deposits in hryvnia equivalent rose by 3.2 billion UAH to 595.6 billion UAH. The share of short-term funds remains high: 71.07% of deposits are available in a short-term format. Entrepreneur deposits amount to 204.7 billion UAH, accounting for 11.7% of the total funds. In terms of deposit volumes, 25.92% of funds are in the range of 10 to 200 thousand UAH, while 16.43% exceed 5 million UAH. The Deposit Guarantee Fund reminds of the 100% guarantee for the return of deposits during martial law and for three months after its termination, with a maximum guarantee amount of 600 thousand UAH.
