US Threatens to Halt Weapons Supply to Ukraine, Pressures to Stop Strikes on Russian Energy Facilities
The United States has threatened to halt its weapons supply mechanism to Ukraine, pressuring Ukraine to stop its strikes on Russian energy infrastructure. Some European officials revealed that the US lobbied European countries over the weekend and pressured Ukraine in an attempt to end its attacks on Russian refineries. The message conveyed by the US includes threats to stop intelligence sharing and to cut off the "Ukraine Priority Needs List" mechanism. This mechanism is funded by some NATO European member states to purchase weapons to assist Ukraine, and the US does not contribute to this mechanism. The White House declined to comment on this news.
