O Secretário Financeiro de Hong Kong, Paul Chan, afirmou em seu discurso orçamentário que, para atrair ainda mais escritórios familiares e fundos a se estabelecerem em Hong Kong, o sistema tributário será otimizado, com ativos digitais, metais preciosos e outros listados como investimentos elegíveis para alívio fiscal, planejado para entrar em vigor no ano fiscal de 2025/2026.
Além disso, a estrutura da Organização para Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Econômico (OCDE) para relatórios de ativos de criptomoedas e os novos padrões de relatórios comuns revisados serão implementados nos próximos dois anos, em linha com os esforços internacionais para aumentar a transparência fiscal e combater a evasão fiscal transfronteiriça. Espera-se que o projeto de emenda à Lei do Imposto seja apresentado no primeiro semestre do ano. Chan também afirmou que o governo de Hong Kong continuará a emitir regularmente títulos tokenizados, e uma plataforma de ativos digitais será estabelecida dentro do ano para apoiar a emissão e liquidação de títulos digitais, expandindo gradualmente para outros ativos digitais e conectando-se a outras plataformas tokenizadas na região.
