Odaily スタージャーナルによると ドイツ銀行が6月に実施した調査によると、仮想通貨の最大のユーザー層はアメリカの消費者で、主に男性と若年層、富裕層である。先月、アメリカの仮想通貨普及率は17%で、イギリスの11%、欧州連合（EU）の10%を上回った。アメリカの18～34歳の若者の仮想通貨普及率は、1月の24%から6月には29%に上昇した。これは主に、トランプ大統領の仮想通貨推進政策に対する市場の楽観的な見方によるものだ。アメリカの回答者のうち、富裕層は仮想通貨利用者の32%を占めた。さらに、アメリカの男性の23%が決済や個人投資に仮想通貨を使用していると回答したのに対し、女性では13%だった。男性消費者は一般的に、女性よりも仮想通貨に対する理解が深いと考えている。（金氏）
