Alchemy Pay brings fiat and crypto payments to Telegram’s Walt app
Alchemy Pay has integrated its fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat payment services into Walt, allowing users across 173 countries to buy and sell supported cryptocurrencies directly through the Telegram-based application.
Summary
- Alchemy Pay has integrated its fiat payment services into Walt, allowing users across 173 countries to buy and sell supported cryptocurrencies directly through the Telegram app.
- The integration supports more than 50 fiat currencies and 300 payment channels, including Visa, Mastercard, mobile wallets and local bank transfers.
- Walt, formerly known as Wallet in Telegram, has expanded its services to include more than 300 cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets and perpetual futures trading.
- The partnership follows Alchemy Pay's earlier integration with The Open Network and its expansion into crypto wallets and tokenized investment services.
According to the company's November 3 announcement, the integration connects its payment infrastructure with Walt, a digital asset platform backed by The Open Platform, giving users access to traditional payment methods without leaving the app.
Users can purchase or sell supported cryptocurrencies through Visa, Mastercard, mobile wallets and local bank transfers, depending on the payment options available in their markets.
Alchemy Pay currently supports more than 50 fiat currencies and over 300 payment channels, covering local and international payment networks.
The service handles both on-ramp transactions, where users purchase cryptocurrencies with fiat money, and off-ramp transactions, which allow them to convert supported digital assets back into traditional currencies.
For Walt users, the integration provides a way to purchase cryptocurrencies without first buying them through a separate exchange and transferring the assets into the application.
Walt expands its crypto services within Telegram
Previously known as Wallet in Telegram, the application rebranded as Walt on September 28, 2026, after expanding from a service primarily used to buy and hold Bitcoin and Toncoin into a platform supporting multiple digital assets.
As crypto.news previously reported, Walt supports more than 300 cryptocurrencies across four blockchains, with trading available for over 200 assets.
Its services include yield products, tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds, precious metals and perpetual futures contracts covering cryptocurrencies and other assets.
Walt founder and CEO Andrew Rogozov outlined plans to introduce crypto cards and artificial intelligence tools as part of the company's product development.
On October 20, Walt launched AI trading for perpetual futures, allowing users to interact with trading functions through AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Claude and Mira.
According to the company, the feature allows connected AI agents to examine market information, review positions and execute trades based on user instructions.
The launch followed Walt's April introduction of perpetual futures trading through Lighter, which brought leveraged trading products into the Telegram application.
Earlier in February, the platform expanded its decentralized finance services with an account offering on-chain yield opportunities for Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT.
How does Walt differ from Telegram's own wallet?
Telegram's own non-custodial wallet, now called Money, is developed by the Telegram team, while Walt operates independently under The Open Platform.
Money is designed for basic cryptocurrency transactions and payments, with users retaining control over their digital assets.
Unlike Telegram's non-custodial offering, Walt operates a custodial service in which the platform manages users' private keys.
According to Walt's support documentation, the application is accessible through the @walt Telegram account, while the previous @wallet address continues to direct users to the service.
Existing customers retained their balances, transaction histories and wallet addresses following the rebrand, without needing to create new accounts or complete verification again.
The company has said the two wallet services can operate alongside each other, with Walt providing users a way to add funds to Telegram's native wallet.
Alchemy Pay builds on previous crypto payment partnerships
In September 2024, Alchemy Pay introduced crypto payment services through The Open Network, the blockchain ecosystem associated with Telegram, before its latest agreement to provide fiat payment services within Walt.
In March 2025, Alchemy Pay partnered with Ledger to integrate its payment services into Ledger Live, allowing users to purchase and sell cryptocurrencies through conventional payment methods within the desktop and mobile application.
In September 2025, Alchemy Pay launched a tokenized investment platform in partnership with xStocks, offering access to more than 60 tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds.
The service supported fractional purchases starting at $1 through payment options including bank transfers, credit cards and mobile payment services.
In its latest announcement, the company said it holds 19 US Money Transmitter Licenses, alongside regulatory licenses and registrations covering markets in Southeast Asia, South Korea, Europe and the UK.
