Backpack CEO: Wall Street's Full API Integration Will Foster Innovative Teams

By: x.com|11/05/2026 12:22:32

Backpack CEO Armani Ferrante stated that if Wall Street's financial infrastructure fully transitions to callable APIs, it will drive a multitude of innovative experiments. He pointed out that at that time, a five-person team could potentially develop the next Robinhood, which would be nearly impossible under the traditional financial system. Ferrante also mentioned that traditional financial products could be reimagined through smart contracts, significantly reducing operational costs and product fees. For example, developers could create on-chain products that track the S&P 500 index (SPY) with fees close to zero. He believes that as the openness of financial infrastructure increases, there will be a surge of such innovative attempts.
