Crypto Trader Loses $600,000 Due to Fake Cloudflare Verification

A crypto trader using the pseudonym cladzsol lost approximately $600,000 due to a compromised computer. He reported that he managed to save around $400,000. The device was infected with malware after interacting with a fake Cloudflare verification. The attackers used a ClickFix technique, convincing the user to execute a malicious command themselves. Additional details of the incident were published by the account Inside Calls, which noted that the malicious site imitated the Cloudflare verification and prompted the user to open a Windows system window, paste the command, and execute it. The screenshot of the instructions included the sequence Win + R, Ctrl + V, and Enter. Inside Calls initially stated that the incident occurred during an attempt to use a bridge in the Arc ecosystem, but cladzsol clarified that the attack was not related to Arc. Microsoft had previously recorded campaigns where attackers imitated Cloudflare Turnstile, automatically copying the malicious command to the clipboard. Inside Calls also reported the spread of similar phishing links through meme coin pages, but there is no independent confirmation that cladzsol accessed the malicious resource through a meme coin profile.
