EU Opens Clusters 2 and 3 for Ukraine
All member states of the European Union have agreed to open two new negotiation clusters for Ukraine as part of the EU accession process: "Internal Market" and "Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth." The official start of negotiations is scheduled for October 13. Ireland's Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne, confirmed that all EU countries have reached this agreement. The fourth meeting of the Conference on Ukraine's EU accession will take place on October 13 in Luxembourg. Cluster 2 covers issues related to the EU internal market, while cluster 3 concerns competitiveness and inclusive growth. Previously, Hungary had blocked Ukraine's progress in these negotiations, linking its position to the rights of the Hungarian national minority in Ukraine. In June, Ukraine and Hungary reached an agreement to expand the rights of the Hungarian minority, which facilitated the opening of the first negotiation cluster for Ukraine.
