FINRA Orders Charles Schwab to Pay $1.3 Million for Failing to Prevent Cryptocurrency Fraud
A FINRA arbitration panel has ordered Charles Schwab to pay over $1.3 million to resolve allegations against the firm. The allegations claim that the company failed to detect warning signs in a cryptocurrency fraud case. Plaintiff's attorney Scott Greco revealed that the scammers convinced an 82-year-old man that he owed money due to a "misdirected" refund, thereby gaining access to his computer.
