Google Launches Gemini Enterprise for Legal Firms
Google has introduced the Gemini Enterprise for Legal platform, designed to automate routine and analytical tasks in law firms using AI agents. The platform provides secure access to legal databases, including Thomson Reuters and LexisNexis. The new plugin integrates with legal software and includes autonomous AI agents capable of performing specialized functions without constant human oversight. Google Cloud emphasizes the platform's flexibility, allowing firms to choose the AI models they need. Legal firms such as Weil Gotshal and Cleary Gottlieb were involved in the platform's development. According to Jonathan Soler from Weil Gotshal, clients expect lawyers to use AI to enhance efficiency. In recent months, AI companies, including Anthropic, have also expanded their offerings for the legal sector. A Deloitte report for 2026 indicated that law firms are ready to invest in AI as part of their transformation. Google faces competition from Anthropic and Thomson Reuters, which has released the language model Thomson 1.0.
