HYPE eyes $100 after listing on Bloomberg Terminal and new $14.6M buyback
Hyperliquid announced on Monday that it has received a payment of $14.58 million in USDC as part of its Aligned Quote Asset v2 framework, known as AQAv2.
The payment is the first distribution of the yield generated on the USDC reserves held within the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
It introduces an additional source of funding for HYPE buybacks, alongside trading fees that have historically provided most of the revenue for the mechanism.
Yields began to accumulate after the activation of AQAv2 at the end of August, with the initial distribution covering approximately 30 days.
The framework allows the income from reserves to accumulate even when the associated assets are not actively traded. This makes the revenue source distinct from transaction fees, although future distributions will still depend on the reserves and the yields generated.
The assistance fund receives most of the adjusted yield
Under AQAv2, about 90% of the net yield from the reserves after costs is shared with Hyperliquid's Assistance Fund.

The fund uses the protocol's revenues to buy HYPE, linking the new income stream from the reserves to the existing buyback mechanism.
Users can transfer USDC to HyperEVM, with Circle providing the USDC issuance infrastructure and Coinbase acting as the treasury deployer. The resulting reserves generate yield, part of which falls to Hyperliquid.
This arrangement expands the available income sources to support token purchases. Trading activity can continue to contribute fees, while the reserves provide a separate funding stream.
However, the revenue from reserve yields and HYPE purchases are distinct events. The distribution of $14.58 million does not demonstrate that the fund has already bought an equivalent dollar value of HYPE or that such tokens have been removed from circulation.
If Hyperliquid were to receive $14.58 million every 30 days, the payments would amount to approximately $177 million over 365 days.
This is an illustrative calculation and not a revenue forecast. The first payment alone does not prove that subsequent distributions will be of the same amount.
The actual annual income would depend on factors such as reserve balances, yields obtained, and applicable costs. Variations in these inputs could increase or decrease the amount available for the Assistance Fund.
The immediate significance is thus the arrival of a new revenue source. Its long-term contribution to funding buybacks will become clearer with further distributions.
This development comes just days after Michael McDonough, head of market innovation for Bloomberg Terminal, announced that Hyperliquid's perpetual futures have been listed on Bloomberg Terminal.

The timing aligns with increased interest following that coverage, although it does not prove that the sole development related to Bloomberg caused the rise of HYPE.
The Bloomberg coverage includes Hyperliquid's perpetual futures linked to commodities such as oil, gold, and silver.
It also covers major stock indices and a select group of cryptocurrencies, highlighting the range of markets available through the platform.
HYPE maintains a constructive technical structure
On the daily chart, HYPE remains above its 20, 50, and 100-day exponential moving averages, approximately $89.50, $83.10, and $74.80, respectively.
The shorter averages positioned above the longer ones support a bullish structure in the short term.
Maintaining prices above those levels suggests that the broader recovery remains intact despite the possibility of temporary retracements.
The Relative Strength Index is around 58, indicating moderately positive momentum without overbought conditions.

This leaves room for further gains, but does not confirm that buyers will overcome the next resistance. The price has yet to establish a sustained breakout.
Immediate resistance is near $97.70, the area indicated as the all-time high. A sustained move beyond that barrier would establish a new high and bring the next bullish reference around $109.10 into focus.
On the downside, the 20-day EMA near $89.50 provides initial support, followed by the horizontal level at $85.60 and the 50-day EMA at $83.10.
A deeper correction would expose supports around $75.40 and the 100-day EMA near $74.80.
