Medicine Shortage in Ukraine Due to Russian Attacks and Infrastructure Damage

In Ukraine, the stock of medicines in pharmacies is decreasing due to Russian missile attacks and damage to logistics infrastructure. In some regions, medicine supplies have dropped to 2-3 weeks, and deliveries are being delayed. The Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Professional Association (APAU) has stated the need for urgent measures to ensure the continuous supply of medicines. The association is consulting with the Ministry of Health and the Verkhovna Rada on issues related to stabilizing supplies. Among the proposals are simplifying import procedures for medicines and expanding pharmacies' access to state financial support programs. APAU also suggests placing pharmacy points in the metro and protected structures to ensure access to medicines during air raid alerts. The association urges citizens not to create excessive stockpiles of medications to avoid overloading the supply system. Russian strikes on warehouses, including damage to the "Biocon" logistics complex and attacks on "Teva Ukraine," may lead to temporary disruptions in the availability of medications.
