On October 1, the advocacy organization Pretty Good Policy for Zcash (PGPZ) submitted a lobbying registration in Washington, with the sole lobbyist being Executive Director Divij Pandya. The lobbying topics listed in the registration include the CLARITY Act and two proposals related to digital asset taxation. PGPZ was established in June 2023, stemming from the Pretty Good Policy for Crypto initiative launched by Electric Coin Co. in 2022, which previously held policy roundtables and organized congressional briefings in Washington. Paul Brigner, founder of PGPZ and Chief Policy and Regulatory Officer at ZODL, stated that the goal is to ensure that Zcash's policy participation in Washington is taken seriously and is credible. In August, the Zcash Community Grants approved a funding of $750,000 for PGPZ's first year of work.
