SCAN 2026 Finals, 67 Participants in Solo Teams
The finals of the world's first digital asset tracking competition, 'SCAN 2026', will be held on September 28 at 9 AM at Monaco Space in Seocho-gu, Seoul. SCAN 2026 is organized by D.ASET to enhance cybersecurity and investigative capabilities for digital assets, with Chainalysis participating as a CTF partner. A total of 20 teams will advance to the finals from the preliminary round, which had 416 teams. Among the finalists, 67 teams are unique solo teams, who mentioned that their ability to advance alone allowed them to save time on decision-making and role distribution, enabling them to try various methods immediately. The team members are employed at the global blockchain security company, OtterSec, and have a passion for CTF and cryptography. They expressed their excitement about being among the top 20 teams and felt the tension as the rankings changed in real-time during the preliminary round. In the problem-solving process, they relied on AI and approached the task by writing and modifying analysis codes using AI coding tools like Codex. In preparation for the finals, they are supplementing their understanding of basic blockchain concepts and practicing the use of AI tools. If they win first place in the finals, they plan to keep their promise to friends and save the remaining money for purchasing a car.
