Sequoia Capital Closes London Office and Discontinues Arc Accelerator
Sequoia Capital published a lengthy article titled "The Sequoia of Tomorrow" on X, detailing the adjustments made in the year since its generational transition. Sequoia will focus on high-conviction, highly selective venture capital, simplify its fund structure, discontinue the bulk accelerator Arc and the Scouts program, and streamline its operations and investment teams. Sequoia will no longer distinguish between early-stage and growth-stage teams, unifying them into one team, while also closing its London office, leading to the departure of some employees who will now support European entrepreneurs from the San Francisco Bay Area headquarters. Sequoia has flattened its partner structure, eliminated the weekly partner meeting cycle, and has raised approximately $10 billion for a new fund. Currently, Sequoia is jointly held and operated by seven general partners, focusing on areas such as AI, space, biotechnology, and re-industrialization.
