Masahiko Loo from State Street Global Advisors stated that the Bank of Japan may bring forward its next interest rate hike to September or October, rather than the previously expected six months later. The strategist anticipates that the Bank of Japan will gradually move towards a final interest rate level of 1.5% to 1.75%. At a press conference, Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda expressed significant concern over the possibility of inflation overshooting, stating that this risk should not be overlooked, and indicated that if the financial environment is deemed too accommodative, there is a strong possibility of accelerating the pace of rate hikes.
