The Zcash community has completed a privacy vote regarding the network upgrade NU7, with approximately 2.4 million ZEC participating, accounting for about two-thirds of the eligible total ZEC supply. The voting results show that 99.9% support reducing the block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds to accelerate transaction confirmations; 98.9% support retaining the existing Bitcoin-style halving mechanism. Approximately 96.6% agree to delay the fees collected by the Network Sustainability Mechanism until at least February 2031 before redistributing them to miners, while disabling the outdated Sprout privacy system transactions and aiming to launch NU7 as soon as possible with features ready by September 30 at the earliest.
