Bitrace's "2026 Annual Cryptocurrency Crime Report" reveals that high-risk blockchain addresses across the network collected illegal funds amounting to $50.21 billion in 2025. Organized crime networks in Southeast Asia were severely impacted, with joint sanctions from the UK and the US against the Cambodian Prince Group, resulting in the confiscation or freezing of billions of dollars in crypto assets, forcing the Huiwang Group to suspend its payment operations. The report indicates that high-risk addresses associated with online gambling received $145.3 billion, down from $217.8 billion in 2024, with a forecast of $66.4 billion in platform funds being transferred or wagered. High-risk addresses involved in money laundering received a total of $69.8 billion, with USDT-related laundering accounting for $5.7 billion on Ethereum and $60.2 billion on Tron. High-risk addresses linked to black and gray market transactions collected $186.9 billion, almost all occurring on the Tron network, with Huiwang Payment receiving $52.4 billion in USDT that year. The number of frozen addresses in 2025 reached 4,059, surpassing the total of 3,199 from the previous four years, with 3,406 on Tron. Tether froze over $1.1 billion in USDT, while Circle froze over $23 million in USDC. From 2021 to 2025, the US, Japan, the UK, Israel, and France imposed sanctions on at least 1,683 blockchain addresses.
