A 28-year-old Russian core member was arrested in Japan and extradited to Germany on October 2. The man is suspected of illegally hacking into the system of a logistics company in Germany in September 2024, demanding and extorting approximately $165,000 in Bitcoin. Investigations reveal that he was responsible for building the attack system within the Qilin criminal network and took a cut from the ransom collected by various execution teams. Japanese police apprehended him while he was traveling to Osaka in late May this year, and he was subsequently ruled eligible for extradition by the Tokyo High Court.
