Ethereum Foundation Releases EIP Draft Proposing Proof of Execution Chain and Constant Time Synchronization

By: github.com|10/09/2026 04:55:35

Ethereum Foundation researcher frisitano has released an EIP draft proposing a proof mechanism for recursively confirming the validity of all execution loads from the head to the initial beacon block, binding it to the beacon chain. Each proof extends one block after verifying the previous complete load proof. The draft publicly commits to the roots of the initial and head beacon blocks, chain ID, and stateless input mode version, broadcasting only these two roots during propagation. Continuous proofs are linked by the beacon state, with guest programs reusing the envelope processor from EIP-7732, and validated through the execution engine. Newer proofs on the same branch include earlier proofs, allowing execution layer synchronization to be completed in constant time from weak subjectivity checkpoints. Proofs are propagated via gossip, with at most one additional minimized request-response protocol provided by a bounded memory cache.
