FDIC Introduces New Equity Regulations for State Banks to Support Digital Asset Businesses
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) board has approved a new regulation that establishes equitable treatment for out-of-state state-chartered banks and federal banks. This rule clarifies the state laws applicable to state-chartered banks when operating across state lines, covering innovative financial activities related to digital assets. Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that this proposal will inject new momentum into the state banking system and responsible innovation.
