HTX Research predicts increased crypto market volatility in next 2 weeks

Crypto market volatility is expected to rise over the next two weeks as the U.S. Federal Reserve prepares to decide on interest rates and key economic data is set to be released. HTX Research analyst Chloe noted that while institutional buying is recovering, it is premature to declare a trend reversal based solely on short-term fund inflows. The market anticipates a rate hold in October, with a potential hike in December, which may limit fresh upside momentum. Chloe emphasized that the Fed's future tightening stance will likely influence market direction. If the Fed reduces the likelihood of further rate hikes, core personal consumption expenditures inflation falls below expectations, and inflows into spot BTC ETFs persist, Bitcoin could surpass its short-term peak, potentially boosting Ethereum and Solana. Conversely, a hawkish Fed message, higher-than-expected inflation, or a significant strengthening of the yen could lead to market declines, with volatile altcoins facing heavier selling pressure.
