NEAR Proposal Aims to Reduce Token Issuance Rate to 1.6% Within 24 Months
A new proposal has emerged on the NEAR governance forum, suggesting to reduce the NEAR token issuance rate from 2.5% to 1.6% within 24 months and to promote a fixed total supply direction. This proposal was put forward by Sal Ternullo, CEO of Svrn AI, and is currently open for discussion among validators, representatives from House of Stake, and the entire NEAR community. NEAR officials stated that the NEAR Intents event did not involve any vulnerabilities related to the NEAR Protocol or the native NEAR token, and the network continues to produce blocks and process transactions with zero downtime during this period.
