The share of non-performing loans in Ukraine decreased to 11.5%
As of September 1, 2026, the share of non-performing loans in the banking sector of Ukraine was 11.5%, which is 2.4 percentage points lower compared to the beginning of the year. The volume of loans in the banking system increased by UAH 269.8 billion, or 19.8%, reaching UAH 1.63 trillion. The volume of non-performing loans decreased by UAH 1.6 billion, or 0.9%. The National Bank of Ukraine explains the reduction in the share of problematic loans by the increase in new lending of better quality and the settlement of existing debts. In the corporate segment, the share of non-performing loans decreased by 3.1 percentage points to 13.9%. Among individuals, this figure decreased by 1.1 percentage points to 9.7%. The reduction in the share of problematic loans is observed across all groups of banks, indicating that the active expansion of lending is not accompanied by an increase in problematic debt.
