Philadelphia police stated that the artificial intelligence company Anthropic submitted a false murder tip through its website. The tip was submitted on July 18, 2026, via PhillyUnsolvedMurders.com, regarding an unsolved murder case, claiming to have information about the case. Police indicated that the submission was marked as spam and was not forwarded to the Real-Time Crime Center for investigation or distribution.
