What Is Bitway (BTW)? Product, Tokenomics and the January WEEX Listing

By: WEEX|2026-09-16 09:49:54

Bitway (BTW) is the token of a project that presents itself as on-chain strategy infrastructure connecting decentralised liquidity with global financial-market opportunities. Bitway's official post says the public launch went live at 08:00 UTC on 2 March 2026. WEEX had announced BTW/USDT earlier, at 10:00 UTC on 29 January 2026. Those dates are distinct: January is the WEEX listing date and must not be called the TGE without qualification. On WEEX, both the BTW/USDT perpetual futures and the BTW/USDT spot market were available when checked on 16 September 2026; the contract API recorded the futures market as live with a last price of $0.767023. This is not a price forecast or valuation. It is a sourced guide to the product, supply, timeline and risks.

What is Bitway? The short version

  • Name and ticker: Bitway, ticker BTW. The WEEX asset is matched to Bitway's project and official contracts.
  • Networks: BNB Smart Chain contract 0x444045B0EE1ee319A660a5E3d604CA0ffA35ACaA and Ethereum contract 0x3A63DE3572c69a1307ff08394f3Ee7702C16d25d.
  • Category: DeFi, yield farming and governance; the documents also call it on-chain strategy infrastructure.
  • Products: Bitway Earn, a Bitcoin-compatible Ledger/Chain, a FROST-based bridge and non-custodial native-BTC lending.
  • Disclosed backers: Bitway's official post describes a $4.444 million seed round led by TRON with HTX Ventures participating, and refers to an earlier YZi Labs investment through EASY Residency.

Name alone does not establish an asset's identity. The WEEX listing notice names Bitway, gives the BTW ticker and links bitway.com. The official token documentation supplies the two contracts above, while CoinGecko matches the name, ticker, BNB contract and website. A separate BITWAY asset uses the ticker WAY. Always match the full name, ticker and contract to the exchange market.

What Bitway does

Bitway's documentation describes an on-chain strategy infrastructure that links decentralised liquidity to opportunities in global financial markets. Bitway Earn is presented by the project as a set of principal-protected products powered by liquidity strategies. “Principal-protected” is the project's description, not an independent guarantee.

According to the official Earn guide, users deposit USDT or USDC into staking vaults, receive voucher tokens such as bwUSDT, and may have assets deployed across trading strategies. The same guide says standard unstaking typically takes up to seven days while flash unstake is instant. These are project-documented process claims, not independent evidence of performance or guaranteed liquidity.

The WEEX notice and Ledger documentation describe Bitway Ledger/Chain as a Bitcoin-compatible dPoS/PoS Layer 1 intended for native-BTC financing and enterprise applications. Other Bitway documents describe a FROST-based Bitcoin bridge called ɃTCT, Bitway validators and non-custodial native-BTC lending. Documented BTW functions include staking for product access, possible reward or fee benefits subject to programme rules, partner and liquidity incentives, governance, validator or delegator security and native gas on Bitway Ledger.

Bitway's official post describes the project as founded by former Binance builders, incubated by YZi Labs through EASY Residency Season 1 and launched through Binance Booster, but it does not name the founders. This article therefore does not add an unverified founder roster.

Max supply10 billion BTW, according to CoinGecko as displayed on 16 September 2026.
Circulating supply2.7 billion BTW, or 27.1% of 10 billion, according to CoinGecko as displayed on 16 September 2026.
Public launchBitway's official post says “BTW goes live” at 08:00 UTC on 2 March 2026; this sits after the earlier WEEX listing and matters to the timeline.

The official token page checked for this article did not provide a complete allocation or vesting schedule. This article therefore does not add unsourced percentages or unlock dates. It is not possible to derive a precise release calendar for each allocation from the available official material. If Bitway later publishes a reconciled schedule, that document should be the basis for an update.

Listing and where BTW trades

On WEEX, start with the futures market: the BTW/USDT perpetual was recorded as live by the WEEX contract ticker API on 16 September 2026, with a last observed price of $0.767023. The BTW/USDT spot market page also resolved on that date. However, the futures HTML snapshot displayed “Circuit breaker triggered” and a disabled order state while the contract API reported live. This is a dated operational discrepancy, not evidence of delisting. Leveraged futures magnify losses as well as gains and can result in the loss of your entire capital; check order status and liquidity separately.

The WEEX announcement gives the listing start as 10:00 UTC on 29 January 2026. That announcement predates Bitway's official public-launch post for 08:00 UTC on 2 March 2026, and the sources do not explain the distinction. January should therefore not be presented as the TGE. MEXC's release says BTW/USDT opened at 08:00 UTC on 2 March 2026 and BTW/USDC at 08:20 UTC on the same date, both in the Innovation Zone.

What the BTW price has done so far (attributed)

  • WEEX snapshot: the contract API recorded $0.767023 on 16 September 2026. This is a dated liveness and price snapshot, not a target.
  • Reported historical episode: a Bitget article published on 10 March 2026 attributed a 70.6% 24-hour range to the 9–16 March episode involving WEEX's WE-Launch and a Binance Wallet integration. It reported a low of $0.017 and a high of $0.029 during that episode. These are attributed media figures, not an independent price series.

The sources reviewed for this article do not establish a single sourced all-time high or low for BTW, so none is invented here. This article also makes no valuation claim. A March media report and a September API snapshot are observations from different dates; neither determines the future direction of the price.

The BTW outlook: what to watch

Nobody knows the future BTW price and this page does not forecast one. These are the observable areas to monitor from the documentation:

  1. Product delivery: the status of Bitway Earn, the Bitcoin-compatible Ledger, the FROST bridge and native-BTC lending.
  2. Supply transparency: because no complete allocation and vesting table was found, a dated and reconciled release schedule would materially improve monitoring.
  3. Token utility: compare staking, governance, gas, reward and liquidity-incentive rules with the current documentation; benefits are subject to programme terms.
  4. Market depth: the WEEX page/API discrepancy on 16 September 2026 shows that feed liveness and order execution are not the same thing.
  5. Listing chronology: preserve the distinction between WEEX's 29 January listing and the official 2 March public launch in every future update.

Risks to know before trading

  • Launch-timing ambiguity: WEEX listed BTW in January, while Bitway's official post called 2 March the public go-live date; the sources do not explain exactly what happened between those dates.
  • Incomplete allocation schedule: the official page checked here did not provide full distribution percentages or vesting dates, so any additional unlock claim needs a new source.
  • Earn product risk: principal protection, an ordinary withdrawal time of up to seven days and instant flash unstake are project descriptions, not independent guarantees of performance or liquidity.
  • Bridge and Ledger risk: the FROST bridge, new chain and native-BTC lending involve technical, contract and execution risk; describing a capability does not prove its security.
  • WEEX operational discrepancy: the contract API was live while the futures page showed a circuit-breaker notice, so market and order states may differ across interfaces.
  • BTW versus WAY collision: BITWAY (WAY) is a separate asset. Match Bitway, BTW and the official contracts together.
  • Leverage risk: futures can enlarge losses quickly; a live feed or current quote does not guarantee a successful trade.
