Bitcoin Core 32.0 Enters Final Testing Phase, Expected Release on October 10
The first candidate version of Bitcoin Core 32.0 was marked as complete on September 14, entering the final testing phase, with the official release expected on October 10. This update does not involve changes to Bitcoin's consensus rules. The main changes include the addition of a fee estimator based on currently unconfirmed transactions in the memory pool, which can more quickly reflect improvements in network congestion; support for multi-threaded parallel reading of transaction data during block validation, using 8 threads by default to enhance node synchronization speed; fixing a security vulnerability that has existed since Bitcoin Core 24.0, allowing authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands on the host machine via specially crafted wallet names; additionally, a memory exhaustion vulnerability in the new built-in web server has been fixed, with tests showing that before the fix, 16 unauthenticated connections could exhaust the node's memory from 46 MB to about 3 GB in approximately one minute.
