Selon CNBC, James Comer, président de la commission de surveillance et de réforme du gouvernement de la Chambre, a lancé une enquête sur les plateformes de marchés de prédiction Kalshi et Polymarket, demandant aux deux sociétés d'expliquer leurs mesures de prévention des délits d'initiés, notamment la vérification d'identité, l'application de restrictions géographiques et les mécanismes de surveillance des transactions anormales. Comer a déclaré que les dossiers internes des plateformes concernées constituent des preuves essentielles pour identifier les traders malveillants et déterminer si les plateformes remplissent leurs obligations légales.
Auparavant, il a été rapporté que Polymarket avait enregistré des transactions suspectes liées à des événements américains concernant l'Iran et le Venezuela ; Kalshi avait également suspendu les comptes de trois candidats au Congrès qui pariaient sur l'issue de leur propre élection sur la plateforme. Comer a demandé aux deux sociétés de soumettre les documents pertinents d'ici le 5 juin.
