Zgodnie z doniesieniami rynkowymi serwis dla dorosłych Pornhub zaprzestał wykorzystywania Tethera (USDT) do rozliczeń przychodów twórców i przeszedł na USDC emitowany przez Circle.
W wiadomości e-mail skierowanej do twórców serwis Pornhub stwierdził, że zmiana ta ma na celu zapewnienie „większej niezawodności” wypłat przychodów, oraz podkreślił, że USDC jest w pełni rezerwowanym, zgodnym z przepisami stablecoinem, który spełnia wymogi unijnych ram regulacyjnych MiCA. W 2020 roku serwis Pornhub wprowadził USDT po tym, jak firma PayPal ogłosiła zakończenie współpracy z tą platformą, a swoją infrastrukturę płatniczą zbudował przy pomocy portfela TronLink należącego do Sun Yuchena.
